It could be worse…

What’s worse than having nothing you want?
Having it all, and knowing it’s wrong.
Asking for a way out, because you were a fool on the way in.

This is where you ask: “What are you talking about?”

I’m talking about our desires. Our dreams. I’m talking about what we spend our energy on, and what we pursue. I’m talking about life, and what makes us live it. I’m asking myself, and if you would like to join me, to look at what it is we put our hope in.

For all who read this, I want you to stop thinking about anything you regret. This is not to hash up memories you wish you had forgotten. And as for regrets, You “Don’t have time to maintain these regrets when”- You- “Think about the way He Loves us.”
Sound familiar?

I am talking about The times where we know we did nothing to get to where we are. Yet, we still have a part of us that wants SOMETHING we can’t have…At least not yet. What do you do?
I just have to remember that what I am given today is enough. It’s more than enough.

My hope is in Jesus Christ, and that I can live TODAY how I am supposed to. I can relate to others around me in a godly, pure, loving way because of His work on the cross and in my life. That is my hope. That Jesus Christ would be glorified in me because I have learned how to be fully satisfied in him.

My Hope is not in any FUTURE relationship, It’s not in any MINISTRY. It’s not in keeping something I have now forever. It’s not in making lots of money.
My Hope cannot be found in any of those, for those are never faithful. If my Hope is not based on something solid, something I know to be unchanging, then it changes.
If my hope changes, Then my attitude and perspective will change.
If that changes, then so does how I live my life, and my very identity.

Your Identity is found where your hope hides.

If my hope is hidden in Christ, then my identity is in Christ.
If my Hope is in money, then my identity will be that of a thief or evil ruler probably.

So what is it we spend our energy on? What is it we fantasize about all day, every day? Is it Christ, and his work? Where have you centered your life around really?
What makes you write songs? Blogs? Letters? Texts?
What makes you get up?

Why do we do what we do? Is it to gain Christ and know him, or to gain something else?
My Friend Will and I were talking, and he said: “Too often we settle for what we can see, because we can see it.”
To try to obtain everything you want is to try and obtain everything you can see.

But God’s thoughts are higher than ours. His ways too. {Is. 55}
He sees something totally different. {Col. 3}

So maybe to have everything you want, is to really settle for what only you could see.

There could be something greater on the way. But you settled.

I would rather have nothing, than to have everything I ever wanted and know it was wrong.

    when people ask me my number one fear, i tell them that it’s ‘succeeding in something that doesn’t matter.’ having that success in something that doesn’t lead me more into God’s will, and my personal destiny. We often push ourselves to succeed in minuet areas or in things that in the span of Kingdom Reality, are useless. and thus we waste our precious adn valuable time on earth.

    it kinda goes along the same lines of what you were dialoguing about, how having nothing i want is far better than having everything i want but know it’s wrong. or at least i made the parallel in my mind.

    good thoughts freedom.
